PT. Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk. (TPL), the pulp-producing company, officially received the Certificate of Custody (CoC) Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) from the Indonesia's certification body, société générale de surveillance de Surveillance (SGS) Indonesia on Monday (26/3), in Jakarta for ensuring that the raw materials used by the Company in producing wood fiber pulp come from sustainable timber sources.

PEFC CoC certificate proves that the sustainable management of industrial timber forest products (HTI) and harvested timber into production into pulp products is assuredly derived from transparent and sustainable sources.

"PEFC CoC certification has became the second historical milestone for PT TPL in early 2018 after previously achieving an IFCC (Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation) certificate in running its operations. This certificate is an acknowledgment from an international tester that PT TPL product results are ensured from sustainable and sustainable management of HTI. This recognition is of course a positive effect for the market or consumer products of PT TPL, "said the Board of Directors of PT TPL, Mulia Nauli.

The PEFC CoC certificate was received by President Commissioner of PT TPL, Ignatius Ari Djoko Purnomo, and Mill VLK & Lab. QA / QC Head PT TPL, Sri Nurhayati from SGS Indonesia President Director Shashibhushan Jogani, accompanied by CBE SGS Indonesia Business Manager, Johnny A. Koe.

This PEFC CoC certification ensures that all raw materials coming into the factory come from non-controversial sources. The PEFC CoC certificate also ensures that PT TPL pulp products are sourced from sustainably managed forests and use controlled materials. In addition, this certificate ensures that forests are managed with priority on environmental, social, and economic aspects. This becomes a verifiable mechanism for tracking wood from the supply process to the finished goods.
